Dianne Bos & Ian Paterson, Simcoe Place Lobby, Toronto, Ontario

Mrs Elizabeth Simcoe, wife of the John Graves Simcoe the 1st Lieutenant
Governor of Upper Canada, was an artist and diarist in Colonial Canada who left
a diary that provides a valuable impression of life in Colonial Ontario.

The photogram plant imagery reflects her interest in collecting local flora specimens.
The central panel – a European depiction of Diana, Goddess of the Hunt – refers to
her Old-World heritage.
